Garry Winograd’s Quote: “You know, I really don’t think you learn from teachers. You learn from work. I think what you learn, really, is how to be – you have to be your own toughest critic, and you only learn that from work, from seeing work.”

Reflection of Quote: I think that Winograd’s quote plays a big role in photography because teachers can only do so much, so it is up to the photographer to be able to learn from their mistakes and apply it. I think that the most accurate part of the quote is “you have to be your own toughest critic”. The reason is because others may not be honest with the quality of your work therefore you have to be aware of the photos you’re taking and be direct with yourself and the ability to improve. During this picture I was struggling to get the right photo and as much as I wanted a certain picture I had to be honest with myself and I conducted that it wasn’t my best work and that I had to find something new to capture.
