The Shutter priority work was very challenging but fun at the same time. The Shutter priority being our first assignment came with many twists and turns. I was very much still trying to figure out how to work the camera and find the camera that was going to be most suitable. Throughout all my pictures I feel like a big challenge was finding the bright exposure so the picture wasn’t too light or too dark. Once I figured out the exposure and set it to zero, it got easier from there. The first type of picture we needed to capture was a Blur photo. For my Blur photos, I immediately went to the color guard practices and set my shutter speed to about 1/30s. One challenge for this type of photo was trying to be creative and find subjects for my photos. Once I built up the courage to ask for more help on the photos they got more and more unique. The second type of photo I captured was a freeze-frame photo. For the freeze frame photo, I made the shutter speed faster than the other at about 1/600 to follow my subject. I shot a man driving the golf cart, a student running and leaves being thrown. Throughout this whole Shutter priority work the freeze frame was my personal favorite and the easier part of the assignment. Working at a fast shutter speed was way more manageable especially since I started to get a hang of the camera itself. Overall I feel like I grew throughout the assignment and getting used to how to handle my camera.
