Technical Reflection:
This semester of photography has taught me how to use a camera. I have learned skills that will be useful for whenever I have a camera in my hands, and I can always improve these skills. I have figured out how to work nearly all of the camera settings. I have also learned of many different compositions such as leading lines, rule of thirds, and framing. There is still so much more to learn, but I have learned a lot in this short period of time.
Personal Reflection:
During this time, I have experienced growth in my creativity. At first, photography was really confusing for me, and would get discouraged at times, but with enough time, I got better. I want to thank my instructor, Mr. Miller for all that he has taught us. One of my big personal challenges was dealing with the lighting. Different places required different settings. After going through setbacks with the exposure and the pictures not being how I wanted them, this just helped me improve even more. Now I feel that I can confidently use a camera wherever I go.
Creative Reflection
We have done many projects and captured many photos. However, there are few pieces that I am truly proud of. If I had to choose my best picture, I think it would be of my friend, riding his dirt bike out at the motocross track. The exposure is just right. He is perfectly in the frame and zoomed close. There are eyes that you can see. Every attribute that goes into a photo was included in that. Everything was right. I had no plan in getting this as my best piece of work, I just decided to go to the motocross track one day and take pictures. This picture makes me feel proud of myself and made me reflect on everything that I’ve learned.
