The start of this project make me feel nervous. I didn’t know what teacher I was going to pick and even when I finally decided on the teacher, I didn’t want to make the teacher feel weird about me asking “Hey can I take some photos of you and share them to a bunch of other people?”. Not like I actually said that but I was nervous I could weird them out about the whole thing. Once I decided on the teacher, I talked to him in class a little bit and sent him emails about my plan for this. I took pictures in my own class and took pictures in his 3rd period class as well in order to catch him doing different things like writing notes and helping students. I’m proud of the lighting on most of the photos, I had a hard time trying to figure out the right settings but I eventually got it. Also I was disappointed because I got some good photos that were sadly just out of focus. I tried to fix them but unfortunately couldn’t and I had to cut them out of the final page draft. I missed a lot of good opportunities for pictures too because I didn’t want to catch him off guard and throw off his work flow. Out of all the challenges I faced, probably focusing pictures was really the only thing that stressed me out. My camera did not want to cooperate but when it did, pictures turned out okay. I should’ve taken some pictures real quick of random things to test out the camera and to focus it but unfortunately, I didn’t. I will definitely be doing that next time. Some things I learned was to not be scared about taking pictures because I missed a lot of good shots. But once I got comfortable taking pictures, I got some good ones.
