The Fire Gallery
When fate calls (or, more accurately, a fire alarm), photographers don't stop working: they start.
In a recent fire alarm situation at Redwood, photographer Micah S. Stipech decided to capture the events: the ups and downs, the crowded field and the smiles that follow.
The Reflections Project
In the reflections project, photographers explored the use of mirrors, windows, puddles, and anything else reflective to enhance their photos.
Micah S. Stipech looked to use reflections as more than a composition element, but as a symbol for finding life in unexpected places. In "Black and White" (top right), mirrors are used to show the varying aspects of oneself.
The Club Day Gallery
Wednesday, January 25, 2023.
On that day, for the latest club day in Redwood High School, photographer Micah S. Stipech jumped into action.
Enjoy the memories.
The Downtown Visalia Gallery
Photographer Micah S. Stipech took a walk downtown, and inspiration struck.
He attempts to capture the energy of the town in its heart—the downtown scene.
The Dollar Store Project
In the Dollar Store Project, photographers each picked a random dollar-store item for which they would create a full-page advert for, as if it was in a magazine.
Micah S. Stipech and William Youngquist ended up with a stuffed dinosaur, and inspiration struck: they recreated a Jurassic Park poster.
The original is seen on the right, with the new version pictured left.
The Alphabet Project
For the alphabet project, photographers looked at the world in unique ways to find naturally occurring letters to spell their own names. Photographer Micah S. Stipech looked around campus, and found new ways to look at the sights seen every day.
The Album Cover Project
For the album cover project, photographers swapped around albums, listened to each others' recommendations, and created album covers to depict the music.
The album covers were made for the one that suggested the album, as if they were a client releasing a new album.
Micah S. Stipech ended up with Kanye West's "Graduation," and was inspired by leaping into the unknown.
The Black & White Project
For the Black & White project, photographers removed a tool from their palette: color. Asked to view the world in black and white, photographer Micah S. Stipech accessed his dramatic side to paint a darker picture of life.
The "Things Out of Place" Project
For the things out of place project, photographers were asked to find or create objects out of place.
This project helped photographers to think about meaning in the midst of isolation.
For the first photo, Micah S. Stipech staged novels across the floor, including "Their Eyes Were Watching God" looking up to "The Stranger."
The second photo pictures a person secluded from their hard-working friends to read a book.
The final photo, surprisingly unstaged photo, pictures photographer Ian Cook crouching behind a bush. This was to "get that PI kinda shot."
