I believe that of course photographers see the world differently compared to those who are not photographers. The reason is because photography is meant to express ones creativity. Therefore photographers have to see the importance in something that is usually deemed as normal. For instance on a sunny day those who are not photographers might think that it is just such a beautiful day, however photographers we see it as not the best day to take pictures. Overall, it is a photographers job to see the beauty in the simple and regular aspects of life.

Dollar Store Advert https://redwood.photography/2023/02/28/dollar-store-advert-3/ https://redwood.photography/2023/02/28/dollar-store-advert-3/#respond Tue, 28 Feb 2023 22:11:32 +0000 https://redwood.photography/?p=3862 What I learned from designing a page? What I learned from designing a page is the complexity that comes along with it. There are many aspects that are involved in making sure the page /advert is effective and the message is also received. One of the important aspects is the coloring of the page and if everything is coordinated together which helps with the page perspective. Another important aspect is the placement of everything such as the image itself, the works, and also the coloring on the page. The overall process was very beneficial and will help me in the future.

Challenges :One challenge that we faced was taking in the pictures. We had to use the resources that we had which was hard because it really wants enough. So what we did, was find the main setting to take the picture for our ad and then we used any props that we could find which was the water hose that we found. Another challenge had to be the construction of the advert itself, we struggled to find the right color and wording that all worked well together. How we overcame this challenge was by trying different colors and word fonts together so that we could find the right one. Overall, the challenges were frustrating but once they were solved our project came out how we wanted.

Reflection https://redwood.photography/2023/02/28/reflection-2/ https://redwood.photography/2023/02/28/reflection-2/#respond Tue, 28 Feb 2023 19:39:13 +0000 https://redwood.photography/?p=3841 Garry Winograd’s Quote: “You know, I really don’t think you learn from teachers. You learn from work. I think what you learn, really, is how to be – you have to be your own toughest critic, and you only learn that from work, from seeing work.”

Reflection of Quote: I think that Winograd’s quote plays a big role in photography because teachers can only do so much, so it is up to the photographer to be able to learn from their mistakes and apply it. I think that the most accurate part of the quote is “you have to be your own toughest critic”. The reason is because others may not be honest with the quality of your work therefore you have to be aware of the photos you’re taking and be direct with yourself and the ability to improve. During this picture I was struggling to get the right photo and as much as I wanted a certain picture I had to be honest with myself and I conducted that it wasn’t my best work and that I had to find something new to capture.

Look Up-Project https://redwood.photography/2023/02/24/look-up-project-3/ https://redwood.photography/2023/02/24/look-up-project-3/#respond Fri, 24 Feb 2023 19:42:26 +0000 https://redwood.photography/?p=3596 Why are feet a really valuable for photographers? The reason why feet are really valuable for photographers is because it gives us the ability to maneuver in order to get that better picture that at times a lens can not provide. With getting that better photo our feet allow us to do multiple things. This includes bending down, running to get that quick shot, and overall getting angles that can’t be accomplished with just the lens.

Look-Up Photo Example

Benefits and limitations: Moving around was a main aspect for this project that contributed to the photos I was able to take. Not only was I able to squat down to get the look-up angle but I was able to find new perspectives for the image that I was overall trying to capture. There weren’t any actual limitations but rather obstacles that I faced during this project. The obstacles were not being able to figure out how to capture the exact photo and look that I wanted for the project. In order to overcome this I adjusted the settings and angle of my camera and body to get what I was looking for.

This photo was taken at a park, and seems to be capturing the essence of the boy just being a kid while also capturing his cool hair. The similarities in the colors is what makes the photo capture the eye because it all works together which makes it vibrant.
