I loved being able to go on the street and being able to take pictures with the entire class. I liked when everyone’s work got showcased on the screen and we were able to see things to be improved and noted. I think that this was a pretty easy project and definitely one of my favorites. I liked being able to just stand and track cars in the front of the school. I found that it helped a lot being able to work with the entire class and taking about what we were doing right and what we were doing wrong. I really enjoy the idea of panning and am excited to play with it for future proojects.

Using a lower F number to be able to blur a background and have one thing in focus was super interesting and I liked taking these pictures. I found myself having multiple of these pictures and I enjoyed taking them of scenery like flowers. However, I sort of struggled to get pictures that have more depth of field. I didn’t really know exactly how deep the field needed to be, I just knew my F number should be high, so that was a bit of a struggle for me to understand. I also need to better learn that when I have a higher F number the hole is actually smaller and not larger so that is a concept I want to better understand. I have also had a harder time getting bokeh balls, just because I can’t find the right lighting reflections and stuff. Later on Miller helped me do this and I gained a better concept for how bokeh balls are made and also how aperture and shutter speed are really connected. I know that my aperture needs to be a lower number but I just don’t get the right lights in the day.

The easiest part was getting a picture that freezes time because of the fact that all I had to do was turn my camera to a high shutter speed in broad daylight. It was easy to capture the color guard kids waving their flags. I struggled with getting a picture that showed good panning. Finding subjects that were moving that I could follow was pretty hard. I definitely spent the most time on panning and still only got one picture that was decent. I think the motion blur was an alright subject to get a picture if because I just took far away picture of P.E kids running on the track. I find it interesting how the longer the hole is open the more light is let in and that I could control that by just moving a dial. I had a scratch my head moment when I was struggling to get the exposure right in my pictures. My blur was good but it was too bright and so I had to adjust but sometimes I would go too far so I did have trouble for a bit just figuring out exposure as well as getting the blur.
