How are Feet important to a photographer?

Feet are a key tool for photographers as they allow to proper use of prime lenses. Prime lenses, often producing a better image, are often a photographers first choice if their use is practical in the moment. Since a prime lens doesn't zoom in or out, a photographer must use their feet to get closer or farther from the subject.

"You know, I really don’t think you learn from teachers. You learn from work. I think what you learn, really, is how to be – you have to be your own toughest critic, and you only learn that from work, from seeing work.”

Teachers can teach you how to do things but in order to actually get good at what your learning, you have to apply it in your life, see what works for you and what doesn't. Textbook examples on subjects are typically general ideas that cover the basics, for many subjects though, the environment that you are in can change how you have to interpret the information.

What did making the dollar store advertisement teach me?

I had to think about presenting a terrible quality toy as a professional product, it was difficult at first to come up with an idea but ultimately once we got that part down, it was really fun to work with lighting and materials to get different looks. The hardest part of making the ad however was probably the editing in Photoshop, having barely worked with Photoshop, there were a ton of tools that I didn't know how to use and a bunch of tool that I needed and struggled with finding.

Do photographers see the world differently?

I would say absolutely, me personally, I see things that make me want to take photos, these thing are usually weird shapes or feeling I get from how things look. Sometimes it's even a texture on a wall or the ground. After becoming a photographer I start to see strange way to create feeling out of shapes and colors that normally wouldn't give off those feelings.
