About Me:
Just someone who likes taking pictures of things I find interesting or think need more attention, taking photography as a means to share who I am as a person through images, whether it be landscapes or events that encapture me, or even something obscure.
Story Through Pictures Assignment
Our final and last assignment was to create a new assignment for the Photography students next year, where mines focuses on creativity, specifically through a theme or message, where the object is to capture a photo that symbolizes a chosen theme or idea by the student, being interesting and fun to make connection from photo to literature and philosophy.
Me to Me
The focus of this project is to capture an image where there is multiple of a given subject, where I chose a spot behind the bleachers, with the most difficult part of this project being shooting the pictures in the same frame, opting to shoot through Nikon Snapbridge to shoot photos manually through my phone to reduce any movement on the camera.
Nostalgia
This project invovled shooting photos that provided a sense of nostalgia to one, where being a senior, and it being my last year, I chose to photograph spots where my I hung out with my friends, both our passing period and lunch spots.
Portraiture
One of our final assignments was to shoot Portraits of one another, and for mines, I chose to shoot portraits along with a bubble machine, giving more life to the photo than just the subject, but still not distracting from it.
Peeking
The focus of this project is to capture an image where there is a subject peeking outwards, creating a contrast between them and the foreground of the photo. The main purpose of this type of photo is that it creates a picture within a picture, giving context to a photo without any written explanation
Strange Angles
For this project, the focus of the photos was in capturing angles that are unnatural to the human eye, creating images from different perspectives that create a unique feel
Album Recreation
The album I chose was Nirvana's debut project Bleach, I enjoyed the negative theme of the original cover, using it as inspiration in my recreation, matching the heavier grunge theme of the album that contrasts from the rest of their discography.
Alphabetography
For this project, we recreated our name with objects that we saw throughout our day, having to be creative with letters that arent so common, like for me, being an S, where I found mines in the branches of a tree.
Details
The focus was emphasizing details, whether it be in landscapes or in objects, where most of the patterns or surfaces go unnoticed throughout a day to day basis
Panning
In this project, we were to shoot photos while panning, a techinque in where one uses camera motion to mimic the effect of a moving object, giving photos a sense of reality and
story, where a photographer can emphasize motions and display their own unqiue sense of style.
Anton Corbjin Immitation Project
For these photos, we were to immitate the popular Dutch Photographer Anton Corbjin, who has potraits of famous celebrities
and musicians like The Clash, Nirvana, The Sex Pistols, having a darker and noiser type of style, being unique and fun to mimic.
Scavenger Hunt
For each photo, a matching feeling or emotion is attached, being a journey looking for specific emotions rather than finding a subject to shoot.
Special Object
Our Task was to take a random object and manipulate different physical settings and camera settings to make each photo provide a different feeling and atmosphere, with mines being a pinecone
Masters Imitation
For this project, we were to mimic the photo style of a professional photographer, I selected Walker Evans, who shot obscure subjects and landscapes, inspiring me
Liminal Spaces Project
Liminal spaces are places that are meant to be inhabited, but are empty, creating an eerie aesthetic. Hallways or places with dim or warm light are common for achieving this type of photo, making the viewer feel uncomfortable
